


The Maine Statewide Independent Living Council (SILC) is dedicated to ensuring that citizens with disabilities have control over their lives and environments with equal access to option, opportunities, and choices, as do all citizens.
The Maine Statewide Independent Living Council (SILC)is a federally mandated council under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
The Maine SILC advances independent living by engaging in or supporting research, publication, employment, community organizing, advocacy, and systems reform.
Maine SILC believes in the non-discriminatory treatment of people with disabilities in accordance with Federal and State Laws. Maine SILC fully complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 as amended and Maine Freedom of Access Act to ensure public notice and access to all SILC meetings.
